What it means to trust the process
"I had a 1-1, but Bola had a 2-1". the actor said, "I wish she did as good as I did".
"Did you hear what Spanky got?", his friend exclaimed, "a 3-1", he replied like Spanky had failed woefully.
I didn't get this. Isn't 3-1 a massive win, and 1-1 a measly draw. What the hell is happening?
"What's your CGPA?", he asked
"I'm currently on a 2-2", I replied. It was over six years later till I finally understood what they meant.
When we meet something we do not understand now, it is natural instinct to feel confused—let yourself be confused. However, we get stuck in that confusion and never try to move past it.
When learning stuff, some knowledge would make no sense to you unless you've acquired a level of experience, exposure or different knowledge. Think of Further Maths or Advanced Maths—if you didn't know you basic General Mathematics, they'd make no sense to you.
Trusting the process means believing that you'd one day understand what you currently do not.
Even more, it means shifting focus from the unknown and focusing on what you know.
It's knowledge. The more you know stuff, the more you see you don't know stuff. Honing one bloc of knowledge moves you to the next bloc. Being bothered about the 5th bloc ahead makes no sense if you still have 4 in front of you.
So, Praise, trust the process!
Ciao.
