Murphy's law

Murphy's Law states, "anything that can go wrong will go wrong".

I find that for a we-will-survive person like me, I strongly subscribe to this school of thought. I might be pessimistic or you could call me pragmatic, but it's no lie.

The upside, however, is that I try to plan ahead to fix it. I build alternatives, fail-safes, plan A-Z. And whether or not this sounds like building for perfection, knowing at the back of your mind that you won't be caught unawares is pretty calming.

For sure, you can't fix everything ahead. Sometimes, just knowing that it'd go wrong is enough.

And if you're lucky, with the universe on your side—you just might be wrong, and everything goes according to plan.
