Small talk

"My baby bad; my baby good; my baby all the things I need; my baby buss up the silence o; buss up the silence o"

Baby Riddim is my favourite song of the moment.

While this information is not important in itself, if you remember this chorus and think it's cool, we become closer in some way 'cos of this one thing that we have in common.

That's how small talk works.

It is not just asking about the weather. It is actively looking for a common interest with the other person in the conversation. So maybe next time you want to strike a conversation, start with something more intentional.

A good go-to for me is "hi, I'm Praise; what do you do?" or "I love your name".

The hack to conversations is being genuinely interested in the person—not in the conversation.

Ciao.
