Learn at your pace
Praise, how was Christmas?
Last night, I found a strategy document from 4 years ago for Elite Hub—the name of my design agency before "Neptunn".
I read through it and the questions I asked in there were brilliant. I asked questions I didn't know answers to, at the time. I let that feeling of nostalgia wash on me again. I could almost taste the excitement I felt when I wrote/designed that document.
I didn't start being the designer I am today. I'd always been this way long before I understood what brand strategy was.
I also noted one other thing.
You are only as good as your execution. Ideas are cheap. Thinking is unrefined gold. Execution is gold passed through fire.
Why?
The difference between now and 4 years ago is that now, I know how to find those answers and make them work. I understand marketing, know about PR and can write beautifully well.
I also noted one last thing.
It took me 4 years to understand what I learnt and tried to apply in 2018. You can't skip the learning process.
If you rush it and take in too much than you can handle (read: comprehend), you will constipate.
Find your pace. Learn at that pace.
PS:
I started designing my apartment as a way to provide myself tangible proof of growth and progress.
I know it is vain. Everything is.
Wish me luck.
